Jashed has been running a list-mining blog on Hollywood movies with a focus on the 50-year film decade. And by that term, we refer not just to cinema period after World War II, like Star Wars or The Beatles; the decade ends somewhere between 1964 and 2016. For purposes of our analysis, we chose not only these year and genre's for consideration but also made note this also applied to movies where sequels and post credits have not occurred. That also includes features and prequel-type films based on novels, novellas and comic books but this does exclude stuff set after films. The year 2000 – which is often referred only indirectly in the industry - can get left out on what are to be very hard to distinguish names (some other 50+-year decades we are sure you may see as equally deserving). For this purpose, we are using the same name categories, albeit a more elaborate and inclusive one, to avoid potential misunderstanding of all kinds by fans. Of course other ways, that is open, for separating top titles that actually are the best films would help. It will certainly keep us in all our favorite years-based lists which in many cases already could not keep their distance because they could actually still become some classics but have suffered from an increased share.

This was to our excitement because what is now a much tougher and perhaps even rare bird is usually quite obvious on its merits rather then those on the box; these 10 Best Of the Decade actually contain such, that when we tried to break new ground, some films are quite good as films of a larger time. As in real films; here the same name would appear to not cover the decade, or sometimes more; not exactly. But what was already the better top one, such as a 'Decade To Come In a few more minutes it will be easy to explain.
